Diggy Taylor

Diggy Taylor has served in the restaurant industry since 1989. He’s been a bartender, barback asst. manager, general manger and owner since 1995. It all started with a family restaurant in Galveston Texas in 1989 called Diggy’s on the Strand. He then came to University of Texas in the fall of 1989 to study business administration. Diggy started working with Michael Girard in 1994 at a bar on 6th street called the Daiquiri Factory. Other bars that he was a part of included, Talegators Sports Bar, Amazon Jungle Bar, The VooDoo Room, Cuba Libre, as well as the current three of Speakeasy, TenOak, and Imperia. That’s one daiquiri bar, one sea food restaurant, one sports bar, one tropical drink bar, one dance club, a rum bar, a bourbon bar, a sushi bar and one live music venue that is still going after 15 years.

Diggy has learned that this industry is about customer service, and innovation. This is exactly what is focused on and practiced at Imperia. Staying on top of the newest trends in sushi and mixology makes Imperia one of the Warehouse District’s most popular hot spots. Between Michael Girard, Diggy Taylor and the Imperia Management team they truly have developed a restaurant and bar that stands out and has been voted one of the best places to dine in Austin.
